Goin back to the good 'ol times

I was rummaging through my bits and past armies the other day and found my orks who I've played with about 2 or 3 times in the past. When I thought to it, I realized how much I loved to play with them, how I would need about 30 dice for each squad while shooting, how fast my "dead pile" got and just the fun rules and units (such as the shok attack gun and my most favorite, the stompa) So I guess I smacked some sense into myself and decided to finish what is left of painting my orks and play with them for another 5 or 10 games, until I get tired of them again and go back to my blood angels.................again.

For some people who are new to this blog, here is one of my battle reports from one game while using my orks.

MISSile Launchers?

In my last game, both armies had a lot of Missile Launchers in each side. Just to give you a number, there were maybe 4 on his and 3 on mine. Anyway, every time we rolled to hit for them, we would say, "Missile Launcher on terminators" or "Missile Launcher on tank". But what we didn't realize was that they missed every time. Then, the next time my opponent rolled to hit he noticed how the word missile had the word "miss" in it. We started to call them Rocket Launchers or RPG's and such. We still kept missing the shots though. I guess it was just just some bad luck or rolling. But that still is kind of odd how Missile Launchers have the word "miss" in it.

Blood Talons???

(Not My Photo)
I was playing a game the other day and was reading through the codex to make a list and ran across "blood talons". They are basically giant lighting claws that will keep hitting the enemy until they make there saves. That's right. "for every unsaved wound caused with a blood talon, the dreadnought makes an additional attack." Until no further unsaved wounds are made, the dread will keep at you like " a hungry homo at a hot dog stand". lol. Anyway, Is this the ultimate dreadnought weapon? Until my friends and I find a fault or down side, it must be.

Update: Unfortunately I did find some faults. For this rule to work, you must have two blood talons. They also have "rage", which means that if the dread is near a vehicle or a squad of terminators, it is more likely that it will not do as well as these things are meant to do.Just be careful when you are using the dread and keep it near some tactical squads, assault marines or anything that these weapons would be best to go against.
